To celebrate one of my bestie's birthday another bestie of mine came all the way from KL to Penang. We went to PAPRIKA recommended by Nick, another tam chiak friend of mine. Paprika actually is the name of a spice made from air-dried chilli pepper of capsicum.
My first impression of the menu when I saw it was...... magazine? which I think it's a very unique idea though. The place is a fusion restaurant, consisting western and asian food.
A very appetizing appetizer indeed. Sourness from the tomato served with crispy baguette and a little spiciness to kick start your appetite.

It's not hard to find Paprika, even though I'm totally not familiar with the road in Raja Uda, we had no difficulty in looking for it. Thanks Nick again for the instruction! Corner grey building with catchy bright orange colour signboard, it's hard to miss!
We were there for early dinner on that day so there's not much customer yet. The interior were simple but nice and has a relaxing and comfortable ambiance. I can imagine how nice the place would be with live band performance, too bad the performance is only available on Wednesday and Friday and we were there on Sunday.

A refreshing drink with mixture of mulberry and cranberry. Taste just nice, not too sour not too sweet, great to have it after a heavy meal.

I'm actually very fussy about mushroom soup, many restaurants out there use instant packet or can readily available in the supermarket to cook their mushroom soup. Honestly, I really don't like it., might as well I cook it myself. THIS! is different, totally going into my favourite mushroom soup list. I didn't asked them but I'm very sure they made it by themselves using fresh ingredients. You can taste the grounded mushroom in every bite. The combination of the mushroom's texture and the taste of the thick but smooth soup, slurp~!

Something that caught my eyes in the menu. The chicken was grilled and served with a special sauce which is made from paprika but you wouldn't realize that even after finishing the whole thing. Instead, it has a slightly sweet taste and some hints of cumin (nope, no bitter taste from capsicum). Délicieux! Definitely recommended!
