TGV Ultimate Movie Buff! Part 1

In conjunction with Gurney Paragon 1st anniversary (wah so fast 1 year already?!?!?!?) TGV Cinema and the Mall itself held the Ultimate Movie Buff Game Show! yeah~! TGV Cinemas received over 600 entries but only the 15 were selected based on complete entry and originality, creativity and relevance of the slogan.

| What's My Prize? |
This is how the entry form looks like, my friend had it but he forgot to submit it, and he IS a movie buff! Too bad~ The competition began on July 17, 2014. You have to spend more than RM 30 in a single receipt in Gurney Paragon and buy movie ticket at TGV Cinemas (any amount) to stand a chance participate the movie buff game show. Besides, the form come together with a 'What's My Prize?' scratch card for an instant win prize. Wheee~ way to go TGV Cinemas and Gurney Paragon, truly a way to reward shoppers and movie-lovers!
There were 3 rounds of the game, 5 contestant in a round and one winner from each round will proceed to the final round and fight for the title of the Ultimate movie buff! I know everyone is curious about the prizes~ hehehe you're gonna be sooooooo jealous and will say: "WHY am I not there to join this!!!!"

Crazy right??? I know!! Argh! How I wish I were one of the contestant! Well, to be able to witness and be part of it was great too! As you see, there's prizes for all contestant so basically everyone's a winner~ yeah~~ well of course would be the best to take home that all year pass and a brand new Mitsubishi Attrage~

Before the game starts and during the break between each round, the emcee was giving out some free movie passes if you can answer the question correctly~ yeah~ like I said everyone's a winner! even the audiences!

The second category is Seen That Scene. A short clip is played and you have to answer which movies does it comes from. Movies like life of Pi, Indiana Jones : Raider of the lost ark, Inception, Kill Bill and etc were played. Oh~ the classic and awesome movies really bring back memories~
For the third category~ Actor Factor~ a piece of info of the actor was given and guess who the actor is or which movie it is. Try and have a guess below~ Do you know the answer?

Fourth category~ Quickfire~ A fact about the movie is given and guess whatever it is asking lah~
If it's a tie after all the 10 questions finish, there'll be a tie breaker question. FYI, all questions are from movie 2013 and before~ If you answer the question correctly, 10 points for you. If wrong~ 10 points to everyone except you! So don't syok syok press the buzzer ah~

The emcee will draw the names of the contestant to determine who go first. A short story about one of the contestant in the first round, apparently the first one from the left, Anand is the husband of a friend (Yasmin) I just met yesterday at TEDx weld quay, I was so surprised when I saw her as I reached the place! Of course~ all the best to him!

As you can see lah~ the 1st round was a tie between Anand and Bless, and Anand won by answering the tie-breaker question correctly! Hooray to Anand! Like I said~ everyone wins~ just look at the movie passes and the vouchers she got! and all the contestant got them too!

Second round, with more questions on the classic movies. The first one from the left is Johnny, he is in his 60! He looks like 40 to me! Of course he sapu all the classic question lah~ but the girl beside her, Linda has super fast reaction. She press the buzzer soooooooo fast, i think everyone had a hard time to catch up~ Out of 10 question she got 6 of them correct!

I had the chance to talk to Johnny, He said he was a nervous wreck! All of us were amaze when he answer the full name when Raider of the Lost Ark clip was played, he said when he saw the rolling stone he directly knew the answer! I really salute to his spirits and character! He is bright and spontaneous, it was a pleasure chatting with him~
