the day at Teluk Kumbar.....

Monday, January 25, 2010

Someday just after the sem started, my bf found an interesting n possibly a nice place to relax. riding his little 'sheepy', it took almost half an hour (i think) to reach this place......teluk kumbar

From google map, it is a very loooooooooonnnngg bridge stretching out to the sea which was a jetty before and looks like we can have a little walk up there. But..... the 1st thing i saw when we reach there was this sign.....

Quite disappointed by the sign but when we saw the bridge condition, i don think we dare to walk on it even if the sign was not there. It looks like it's going to 'crumble' anytime, the planks were crack here n there, and u can see a the end of the bridge, it's really not meant to be walk on...... n the handle , i think it's all rusted. The bridge was 'abandoned' there lost it's role in the old days, still standing there hoping that once again back to it's happy days being walk around by ppl. Under the sun set, it looks lonely n n sad............

the bridge of the jetty

It was already evening when we reach there ad the sun was about to set. The beach itself is not as beautiful as i imagine b4 we go there, but it gives me a different kind of feeling just being there, looking around the beach, hand in hand strolling the beach with him.

and we started taking pictures here n there

The old jetty now is full with these nelayan's boat all along the beach (the beach is quite long though) and we still can see some of them r going out to fishing n we met a pak cik sewing fish net.

Pak cik was telling us that there's another beach at the other side, 'sana lah, sana boleh mandi, sini tak boleh, sana lebih bersih' . hmmm..... we're not there to 'mandi' though~~

This is actually the 1st time i ever see people sewing the fish net for real. I was thinking, i'm from somewhere like Tawau, a place tat is considered quite kampung compare to a place like penang n this is the 1st time i see this, what about those that grow up in the city like penang or KL.

There is not much ppl even know about this place but a outsider like us drive all the way there as to find a new place to play around. I don think local ppl will do something like this.......

waves washing the shore n my feet =.= after this pic my feet are wet....

I'm not sure wat is that man doing but i think is kinda like washing the net or something. on the spot i feel like he had a day of hard work n back to the shore cleaning up the things with his family welcoming him home, how warm is that............

enjoying the view of the sea~

There are many ppl in penang dig n wash for these fellows at beaches, I've seen many malays n even chinese digging for them in other beaches. Here, there's one chinese uncle washed out a pail of them........... I woner how long he had been this for that evening......

The sampans there are all being tied with rope, being pulled time over time as the waves hit against the sampan, n a naughty girl keep stepping on those ropes burying them into the sand~~

being caught in action~

The beach is not as beautiful as like Langkawi or else where but it gave me a different kind of experience n feeling. These scenes, i don think u can see it everyday if u r living in a big city. There's no water sports, no tourist everywhere, no selling souvenir or stuff, it's just a scene or simple life. Away from hustle n bustle of the city, just relax, searching back to the old, simple way of living.

Looking out to see boderless sea n sky, ur trouble, is nothing.
